About Me

I’m Amanda Carper, an artist and photographer based in Southaven, Mississippi. I create digital watercolor paintings, photography prints, and mixed media collages inspired by the timeless charm of Oxford, MS and the spirit of Ole Miss. With an iPad as my canvas and a stylus as my brush, I hand-paint every detail—layer by layer—capturing the soul of this special place in a vibrant, modern form.

For nearly two decades, I’ve been immersed in the world of visual art, photography, and design. My love for photography deeply informs my art—it’s where I first learned to frame a moment, notice light, and tell a story without words. Many of my paintings begin with a photograph I’ve taken, using it as a reference or inspiration for composition and mood. This fusion of photography and painting allows me to offer a deeply personal and visually rich experience in every piece.

Oxford, Mississippi is more than just a Southern town—it’s home. It’s where I grew up and began to see the world through an artistic lens. It is where stories live in every brick building, every side street, and every front porch. Through digital watercolor, photography, and mixed media collages, I aim to preserve that feeling of home and share it in a form that people can hold, gift to a loved one, and cherish for years to come.

I believe digital art is just as tactile and real as any traditional medium—it simply uses modern tools. Each piece is drawn and painted by hand, thoughtfully layered with color and emotion. My photography background guides my perspective—I paint from moments I’ve captured through my lens, adding memory and movement through brushwork. Whether you’re hanging a framed photo of the Lyceum or sipping from a courthouse mug, I want you to feel a connection—to Oxford, to your roots, or to a cherished memory.
